First Look: (Glympse) Learn How To Update Anyone You Can Text Or Email On Your Whereabouts While Keeping The Rest Of Us In The Dark

It's Friday night and you just got paid and it's time to get your party on.

You have plans to meet the boys for a drink at 9PM and to rendezvous with your lady at 11PM at your favorite watering hole, so what's The Man to do?

Before Glympse, maybe you would keep everyone updated on your whereabouts by text, email or by phone, but those changes in plans, venues or meet up spots can often take the "fun" out of a funking good time.

Well, Glympse is about to change all of that.

Sure you could fire up Google Latitude or "Where I Am" on MetroNavigator, but do you want to know my problem with these applications?

1. You have to remember to shut it off.
2. It can be difficult to be selective (on who you are going to allow to know where you are and for how long they will know it).
3. It can be difficult to remember (all the different settings you made for who you want to find you, when you want them to find you and for how long you want them to find you, particularly if you are dealing with a group of people).

Granted it's not impossible to make these other programs do what Glympse does, but the utter simplicity of how Glympse can do all of these things very well makes it a worthwhile application to consider adding to your GPS arsenal.

Glympse combines GPS, mobile mapping and location sharing technologies to provide you with the ability to inform friends and family of our exact location in real time on a real map for only a "glympse" (a length of time set and controlled by you).

Application: Glympse

Likes:
1. It's free
2. Application is compatible with the Samsung Code
3. Problem-free installation
4. Easy to set up and use
5. You can install the application on your SD Card to save main memory space.

Dislikes:

1. It's made available only on Windows Marketplace for Mobile (this will cost them a star).
2. You can't download it direct to your SD card (because that's the way Windows Marketplace for Mobile does it---this is a huge oversight on the part of Microsoft)

Features:

1. You can send a Glympse to anyone that can receive a text or email
2. Your Glympse can be viewed either on a mobile phone or PC
3. Allows you to send a Glympse to specific people for a specific amount of time
4. Sending a Glympse is as easy as choosing a contact and a duration of time you want them to find you.
5. You can easily customize your Glympse after you send it by adding additional contacts, revising the duration, etc.
